During the Grammy Awards and the Academy Awards broadcasts this year, two commercials aired employing one of Jay and Ray’s most memorable tunes, “Que Sera, Sera (Whatever Will Be, Will Be)”, as their musical inspiration. Visually stimulating, both spots take unexpected casting and creative flights of fancy to new heights. We would like to thank both Samsung and Squarespace for choosing our song as a major part in these surprising and moving commercials.
We are happy Samsung Electronics have chosen “Que Sera, Sera (Whatever Will Be, Will Be)” as their musical representative this year. The edited Doris Day version has been receiving international acclaim for its melding of the original 1956 hit with a more contemporary beats mix. Beside many other uses, so far this year, this spot has been shown during The Grammy’s and The Academy Awards Show.
Only Spike Jonze could imagine how to have “The Sexiest Man In The World”, Idris Elba, lip-sync to a child’s voice singing “Que Sera, Sera (Whatever Will Be, Will Be)” and make it work so effectively.
Congratulations Spike! Congratulations Idris! Congratulations Squarespace!
Job well done.
